My use of metaphors and storytelling as tools for unpacking and understanding my own experiences has translated to how I break down complex concepts into practical and relatable learnings for my clients.
I coach with a Universal Design mindset, which means I’m intentional about making things clear, structured, and easy to follow, especially from a neurodivergent perspective. I don’t believe in leaving people to figure things out on their own.
I break things down, call out the connections, and make sure everything is digestible. It’s not about simplifying the work, it’s about removing unnecessary barriers so people can actually engage with it.
That approach might come from how I need to process things, but what I’ve found is that it ends up benefiting everyone. Because when you build with accessibility in mind, it works better for everybody.
Systems thinking is a holistic approach to problem solving by focusing on the relationships and interconnections between the parts of a system, rather than analyzing them in isolation.
It involves viewing problems as dynamic wholes within larger contexts, emphasizing interactions, patterns, and feedback loops to identify underlying causes and develop more effective, sustainable solutions.
This contrasts with traditional linear, reductionist methods by looking for the "big picture" to drive innovation and change.
The organizational effectiveness role functions much like a conductor of an orchestra. The conductor leads the orchestra made up of many different sections, guiding them through practices and performances. Interpreting the composer’s score and ensuring a cohesive interpretation.
